Quiet and gracious offstage, her petite stature belies a clear and resonant voice,
fully capable of pouring out her heart, and breaking yours.”
- Teri Hunkin, Samoa News
At 21 years of age, Taimane has already carved out her place as an ukulele virtuoso. Since winning her first ukulele competition at the age of six, Taimane has developed her talents into a successful career that has taken her around the world. Proudly representing her Samoan heritage in her name (Taimane means diamond in the Samoan language), this musician travels around the mainland and Japan and has performed for huge corporations such as Pepsi, IBM, Sony, and movie stars such as John Travolta, Steven Seagal, George Clooney, Konishiki and was a featured performer on Don Ho’s stage in Waikiki at the age of 13.

pakman + sahak = peaceofmind + different definition.

brought 2gether by fate, held 2gether by soul, their collaboration/friendship began in late march of 2010 when a chance encounter instantly revealed a true connection between the two prolific and gifted underground socially-conscious emcees. originally hailing from the west coasts of california & washington, the duo linked up in honolulu through a mutual love and passion for hip hop music, and have been at it creating dope music and rocking live shows ever since! dual emcee/producers blessing the mic with a sound immersed in smooth intense frequencies and imagery-rich rhyme schemes call for any and all to witness one of the illest, freshest, and realest hip hop combos in the game today! accompanied by beats courtesy of dj wunda, sahak + pakman are right here, right now, ready to saturate the scene and bring the truth like none other. peace.

Ong King is proud to welcome..
Jessica Skrzypiec

Jessica Skrzypiec was born in Akron, OH but claims Cleveland as her home. She began writing in grade school but found her voice in the fall of 2003. She met her mentor, Eris Zion Venia Dyson, in City Year and was introduced to the world of Spoken Word Poetry.
Ace Boogie gave her the name Suspicious because he couldn’t pronounce her last name…and it stuck. She has placed in multiple slams, is constantly at the open mics, and tries to do as many performances as possible. In 2005 she performed her first solo feature at Boba’s (via Ace Boogie) and later that year performed at MOCA for “Life Stories,” a benefit for the AIDS Taskforce of greater Cleveland. In 2008 she performed at the women’s prison, at CASE for a sexual assault awareness night, and at various Cleveland State University classes and events. In 2009 she featured at the Valentines White Chocolate Affair and her own CSU feature “From Pain to Poetry,” where she also released her album. Suspicious was the first poet to open the mic at the return of the Nia Coffee House at the Karamu house, performed at Brave New Voices 2009 in Chicago, and has blessed open mics throughout the country.
